Shane is responsible for managing the Sentinel’s protection and security offerings, including IDS and IPS ruleset updates, customer support, and scanning services. He also lends a hand in the development of the core Sentinel software and supporting infrastructure.
He has been interested in computer science since he was 14 years-old. From high-profile, critical financial systems to control boards that operate a set of windshield wipers, he is fascinated with the reliance our society has on computers, and baffled by the lack of emphasis placed on protecting these systems.
He spent his college summers working for the U.S. Navy’s Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion & Repair (SupShip) Groton’s IT department, managing their IDS/IPS solutions and honing his network security skills. He graduated from Texas A&M in 2012 with a Bachelor of Computer Science (with a Networking emphasis) and a Minor in Mathematics (with a Cryptography emphasis).
